Financial planning for people who have too much at stake for guesswork
You have built wealth, a business, reached a senior role, or arrived at the point where work no longer has to look the way it used to. In short, you have a future worth protecting.
That brings opportunity. It also brings questions.
Can I afford to slow down?
Can we retire without compromising the life we enjoy?
Are our pensions, investments, tax position and estate planning properly joined up?
What happens if markets fall, tax rules change, illness strikes, or the business plan changes?
Since 2010, Chatfield has helped people like you answer the question beneath all of those questions:
“Are we going to be okay?”
We are not here to sell you the latest product, chase fashionable funds, or pretend anyone can consistently predict markets.
We are here to build, explain and maintain a financial plan that helps you make better decisions about your life.
Planning first. Products second.
Financial products have their place. But they are tools, not the plan.
We begin by understanding what you want your money to make possible. Then we use detailed cashflow forecasting, evidence-based investment principles and regular reviews to help you see what is realistic, what needs attention, and what choices are open to you.
For business owners, entrepreneurs and senior executives
Most of our clients are used to responsibility. They have busy lives, complex finances and limited time to chase every detail themselves.
They want someone who can simplify the picture, challenge their assumptions, coordinate the moving parts and keep them on track.
That is where we do our best work.
The Financial Fire Drill
A good plan should work in normal conditions.
A better plan has been tested against difficult ones.
Our Financial Fire Drill helps you prepare for the unexpected: market falls, illness, early retirement, delayed business sales, family changes, tax changes and the possibility that one person may one day need to manage everything alone.
The aim is not to predict the future. It is to make sure you are not relying on hope.
Transparent from the start
We publish our fees because trust starts with clarity.
Your first exploratory meeting is at our cost. If we believe we can help, we will explain what advice will cost, what you receive for that cost, and how our ongoing service works.
No mystery. No pressure. No obligation.
A small firm by design
Chatfield was founded in 2010 by Adrian Pickersgill and Philip Challinor. Both are Chartered Financial Planners and Chartered Wealth Managers.
That matters. But qualifications are only part of the story.
The bigger reason clients stay with us is that we help them feel organised, informed and understood. We explain things clearly, we listen properly, and we are prepared to tell clients what they need to hear – not just what is easiest to say.
